Internationally acclaimed singer-songwriter Lucy Woodward has released the music video for her latest single, “YES,” built entirely around the artwork and journals of late British-American photojournalist Dan Eldon.
Eldon, who was tragically killed in Somalia at age 22, left behind 17 journals that have since inspired global figures from Madonna to Oprah Winfrey, and sparked extensive creative activism. Woodward’s connection to Eldon runs deep; their mothers were best friends in 1970s London, and after his death, Eldon’s sister Amy moved into Woodward’s New York apartment.
“His words, ‘the journey is the destination,’ and the idea that there’s little difference between being lost and exploring, led me to ‘YES,’” Woodward shares. “It is a reminder that uncertainty often opens the door to discovery, in art and in every relationship, as we’re all just finding our way.”
“YES” serves as a powerful preview of Woodward’s new album, I Need To Roam, arriving August 7, 2026, via GroundUP Music. Fueled by her longtime band, The Rocketeers, the album is a bold, borderless collection exploring creative and emotional movement.
The single release capitalizes on a massive summer for Woodward, who recently completed a four-night residency on Jimmy Kimmel Live! (with a return appearance set for December 2026), and is slated for an upcoming feature on the globally syndicated Paltrocast.
