Cloudaware Achieves FinOps Certified Platform Status from the FinOps Foundation

Cloudaware, a FinOps platform, today announced it has achieved FinOps Certified Platform status from the FinOps Foundation, the nonprofit organization defining best practices for managing variable cloud spend. The certification confirms that Cloudaware’s product capabilities align with the FinOps Framework and that its team has demonstrated FinOps expertise through the Foundation’s individual training and certification programs.

The FinOps Certified Platform designation is awarded only to organizations whose software meets a defined threshold of Framework Capability coverage, whose teams hold FinOps Certified Practitioner, FinOps Certified Professional, and FinOps Certified FOCUS Analyst credentials at levels scaled to company size, and whose organizations actively contribute to the FinOps community through case studies, working group deliverables, and public engagement.

“Enterprise buyers evaluating FinOps tools have no shortage of vendor claims to sort through, and not a lot of ways to verify them,” said Jordan Spiers, Vice President of Strategic Partnerships at Cloudaware. “This certification means a neutral third party looked at our platform against the FinOps Framework and confirmed it holds up. That matters more to us than the badge itself — our whole mission is making FinOps practitioners independently successful, and this is independent confirmation that the tool actually does that.”

Cloudaware’s certification comes as AI spend becomes the line item enterprises can least afford to misjudge. Instances and storage are predictable; AI workloads bill by usage and by token, and most cost models haven’t caught up. Cloudaware attributes that spend down to the application and token level automatically, giving practitioners AI cost visibility without manually instrumenting every model call.

“AI spend is the cost category most enterprises currently can’t see clearly, because it doesn’t fit the allocation models built for steady-state infrastructure,” said Mikhail Malamud, General Manager and Co-Founder at Cloudaware. “Our platform attributes AI spend down to the application and token level with zero pre-tagging required. That’s the kind of capability the certification process is designed to verify — not whether we say we can do it, but whether we actually do.”
