Driving Successful Lives Inc. Launches National PFAS Advocacy Initiative for Municipal Water Systems, Tribal Nations, and Concerned Citizens Across America

National nonprofit urges cities, tribal governments, water departments, and citizens to act now regarding PFAS contamination, federal compliance deadlines, and potential funding and settlement opportunities

Highland, MI (PRUnderground) May 29th, 2026

Driving Successful Lives Inc., a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to helping communities across America, is launching a nationwide PFAS awareness and advocacy initiative focused on protecting municipal water systems, supporting tribal nations, educating citizens, and helping local communities navigate rapidly approaching federal drinking water compliance requirements.

PFAS (Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances), commonly referred to as “forever chemicals,” have become one of the largest environmental and public health concerns facing public water systems in the United States. These man-made chemicals have been linked to serious health risks, including cancers, immune system disorders, thyroid disease, liver damage, and groundwater contamination. PFAS chemicals persist in the environment for decades and are commonly associated with industrial manufacturing, military installations, airports, firefighting foam usage, and landfill contamination.

According to nationwide findings, PFAS contamination has now been identified in all 50 states, with some of the highest concentrations found in states such as:

  • Michigan
  • New Jersey
  • California
  • North Carolina
  • Pennsylvania
  • Florida
  • Alabama
  • Massachusetts
  • Ohio
  • Kentucky

EPA Regulations Create Urgent Compliance Deadlines

In April 2024, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued final National Primary Drinking Water Regulations establishing enforceable Maximum Contaminant Levels (MCLs) for several PFAS chemicals. Public water systems nationwide are now required to complete monitoring, reporting, public notification, and remediation planning under strict federal deadlines.

Communities that exceed allowable contamination levels may be required to implement costly treatment technologies such as:

  • Granular Activated Carbon (GAC)
  • Reverse Osmosis (RO)
  • Ion Exchange Systems
  • Specialized filtration infrastructure

The national cost of PFAS compliance and remediation is projected to reach tens of billions of dollars over the coming years.

Citizens and Municipal Leaders Need Information Now

Driving Successful Lives Inc. is encouraging:

  • City officials
  • Water departments
  • Public utility districts
  • Tribal governments
  • Reservation water systems
  • Environmental agencies
  • Engineers and consultants
  • Concerned citizens

to begin evaluating local PFAS exposure risks and to preserve documentation related to testing, treatment costs, engineering studies, and infrastructure upgrades.

The organization believes citizens should begin asking important questions including:

  • Has our municipality conducted PFAS testing?
  • What were the UCMR5 monitoring results?
  • Are contamination levels above EPA limits?
  • What treatment plans are being developed?
  • Will taxpayers be responsible for the costs?
  • Has our city preserved its rights regarding available settlements and recovery opportunities?

Tribal Nations May Also Qualify for Recovery Opportunities

Driving Successful Lives Inc. also wants Tribal Nations and tribal public water systems to understand that they may qualify for participation in major PFAS settlement programs and funding opportunities.

Multiple tribal entities across the United States have already pursued legal action and settlement participation involving contamination affecting reservation lands, groundwater systems, fisheries, and protected tribal resources.

The organization encourages tribal leaders and reservation water authorities to seek information regarding:

  • PFAS testing programs
  • Infrastructure funding
  • Federal compliance requirements
  • Settlement participation
  • Long-term remediation planning

Billions in Settlement and Infrastructure Funding May Be Available

Recent PFAS-related settlements involving major chemical manufacturers and firefighting foam producers have created multi-billion-dollar funding opportunities intended to help municipalities and public water systems recover testing, treatment, filtration, and remediation costs.

In addition, federal infrastructure funding programs may help communities offset future compliance expenses.

Driving Successful Lives Inc. warns that municipalities and water systems that delay action could risk:

  • Missing critical deadlines
  • Losing eligibility for recovery opportunities
  • Increasing taxpayer burdens
  • Delaying public safety improvements

Educational Outreach and Community Assistance Initiative

As part of this initiative, Driving Successful Lives Inc. is helping connect municipalities, tribal governments, and citizens with educational resources and informational guidance regarding PFAS compliance and public water system planning.

About Driving Successful Lives

Driving Successful Lives’ mission is to help raise funds and improve the lives of veterans, homeless families, children, those with addictions while helping donors generate a tax deduction, often with property or vehicles they might no longer want.

Every time a person gives to the charity of their choice it may also create a tax benefit for them. Car donations, real estate donations or money donated to non-profit institutions throughout the tax year may be tax deductible which means that they could make a positive difference for people while reducing the amount of income taxes they pay. Contributing to charities can be a very convenient way to reduce taxes and help others.
