FS Vector, a leading strategic consulting firm for companies that are innovating in financial services, is announcing the addition of Alex Monié as Principal, reflecting the firm’s continued investment in specialized policy expertise.
In this role, Monié will advise clients on legislative and regulatory developments related to tax, economic policy, and financial services, helping navigate the policy landscape, engage the right stakeholders, and advance their objectives in Washington. Importantly, Alex brings an expertise in tax policy which will be of significant benefit and importance to FS Vector clients in the coming months.
“Alex has extensive experience across the public and private sectors that is increasingly important for clients facing fast-moving legislative and regulatory questions,” said Andy Barbour, Managing Partner at FS Vector. “His work across Congress, the Treasury, and the private sector gives him a practical understanding of how policy decisions are made and how organizations can engage effectively. His expertise will be a strong asset as we continue building our government relations team and expand into tax policy advisory.”
Monié brings more than a decade of policy, regulatory, and government affairs experience, most recently serving as Senior Advisor in the Office of Legislative Affairs at the U.S. Department of the Treasury. Prior to the Treasury, Monié held senior policy roles at the National Association of Manufacturers, where he worked across tax, regulatory reform, domestic economic policy, congressional oversight, and related business issues. Earlier in his career, Monié served as a Policy Advisor at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP and as a Professional Staff Member for the Senate Finance Committee, including the Subcommittee on Taxation and IRS Oversight. He also held roles in the U.S. House of Representatives.
“FS Vector works with clients that operate in areas where policy, regulation, and business strategy are deeply connected,” Monié said. “I am excited to join a team that understands those intersections and helps clients collaborate with Washington in a thoughtful, effective way across the firm’s government relations and tax policy capabilities.”
John Deignan, CEO of FS Vector, added: “Alex’s background aligns directly with where our clients need support. He understands the substance of tax and economic policy, in addition to the processes, relationships, and timing that shape outcomes in Washington. That combination will make him a valuable partner to clients and an important contributor to the next phase of growth for our government relations practice.”
